Cody Cerny is the founder of Cerny Performance, an executive coaching and consulting practice for organizations and individuals seeking professional and personal performance breakthroughs in complex environments. Cody's specialized approach has been crafted over 20 years operating in unique, high-stakes environments:
Cody is a distinguished veteran of U.S. Air Force Special Operations, where he served for nine years as Leader in Combat Search and Rescue (PJ) with 200+ missions in Afghanistan, Africa and Iraq, earning various awards such as Pararescueman of the Year, Presidential Unit Citation and multiple Air Medals. He completed Combat Dive School, Military Free Fall HALO School, Paramedic-EMT Program, Survival training and Technical Rescue. PJs are rare, elite operatives and medics entrusted with rescuing military personnel in diverse and challenging environments. Only approximately 500 in active duty at a time, with the attrition rate of up to 90%.
Cody dedicated twelve months to full time intensive martial arts training in Tokyo, Japan to earn his black belt in Aikido. It incorporates training in traditional Japanese weapons such as the sword, staff, and knife.
For six years Cody served in a corporate role as Chief of Staff for a globally renowned CEO and expert in performance and leadership across Europe, Asia, and North America. He mastered the application of performance methodologies to transform results beyond traditional training, knowledge and tools. For three years he continued this work at Insigniam, consulting for breakthrough performance at Johnson & Johnson, Mayo Clinic and S.C. Johnson etc.
Currently, Cody serves as Board Secretary for Shields & Stripes, a nonprofit supporting veterans and first responders.
Cody lives in Santa Barbara California, with his wife Viktoria and two dogs, Walker and Max.
